Enhanced oversight from CMS can affect practice enrollment
New oversight and payment regulations from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) could have a significant impact on physician practices that let their enrollment lapse or fail to meet other requirements, says Jennifer Hume, CPC, CPMA, CEMC, vice president of auditing and compliance for physician services with the American Association of Professional Coders.
