106 new ACOs mean physicians are pleased with the models so far
Physicians and healthcare providers have formed 106 new accountable care organizations (ACO), bringing the nationwide number of Medicare beneficiaries included in ACOs to about 4 million, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced recently. This growth means physicians are finding the proposed models appealing and potentially profitable, says one observer.
