Anticipate the financial effects of part-time physicians at your facility
If you haven't already had a physician candidate or group member inquire about part-time work, chances are you will in the near future. This trend is growing, says consultant Debi Croes, MBA, principal with The Croes·Oliva Group, a Massachusetts-based medical group management consulting firm.
Both male and female physicians now seek part-time work to create more time to raise young families. Also, older physicians not quite prepared to retire may want to reduce their schedules, she says.
