Hospitals turn to ISO certification as alternative to JCAHO
A small but growing number of hospitals are opting for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification either as a substitute for or as a supplement to JCAHO accreditation.
Middletown Regional Hospital, a 310-bed hospital in the Cincinnati area received ISO 9001:2000 certification in fall 2004 in addition to its JCAHO accreditation.
