Going digital with CPOE
From the moment Memorial Health University Medical Center hired Steve Stanic as its chief information officer in 1999, a vision of an automated clinical information system emerged.
The idea started with an update of existing digital programs for ordering and results retrieval. Extensive planning, careful vendor selection, and intensive effort by the information services (IS) department, medical staff, nurses, and all Memorial Health team members have since led to the beginning stages of actual digital implementation.
