Slight wage increases in '04 for staff

Nonphysician staff received raises of between 2.4% and 4.6% in 2004, not as much as the previous year when salaries increased 2.4% and 4.9%, according to practice management consulting firm The Health Care Group's (HCG) 2005 Staff Salary Survey. The 2005 HCG survey (data from 2004) tracked salaries for 32 nonphysician staff positions at 757 general practitioner, dental, and ophthalmic practices nationwide. The survey reports that staff salaries went up minimally across the board, although some positions lost earnings.
