Aon sees dental costs rising faster than inflation; vision rising more slowly
Dental plan costs should rise in the mid-single digits through the fall of 2007, with dental health maintenance organizations (DHMO) posting the smallest gains and indemnity plans posting the largest. The projected 12-month increase of 4.7% for DHMOs, in fact, was lower in late 2006 than it had been since the spring of 2005-and it was just 0.3 of a percentage point higher than the 12-month prediction made in the fall of 2001, according to a report from Aon Consulting, the human capital consulting organization of Aon Corp. (NYSE: AOC).
