Obama's Proposed Budget is a Mixed Bag for Rural Health

Rural healthcare projects would lose $44 million in President Obama's proposed 2011 budget, but that number is deceiving because the reduction includes the end of two regional projects that are costing $45 million in the current fiscal year. Two rural health budget increases are in the areas of rural health outreach and healthcare programs for American Indians and Alaska Natives.
