Increasing U.S. Medical School Spots Won't Increase Physician Supply



There are more spots in American medical schools, and more new schools starting up to feed the physician supply pipeline. But that gain is unlikely to translate into more practicing doctors because the U.S. capacity for residency programs is staying flat, according to the latest annual survey by the American Association of Medical Colleges.
