Supply of flu vaccine gets a shot in the arm

Put away the tea, blanket and tissues: This year, health officials say, there should be plenty of flu shots to go around.

“We’re recommending that everyone, age 6 months and up, get one this year,” said Dr. Anita Barry, director of Boston’s infectious disease bureau.

Last year’s swine-flu pandemic and problems manufacturing the vaccine led to a shortage that sparked long lines at clinics and forced many in the Bay State to wait until late in the end of the season to get vaccinated.
