Hospitals Still a Job-Creation Machine

Hospitals are subject to many of the forces that have battered the rest of the economy. But, as a job creation machine, the healthcare industry is showing itself to be resilient. Bureau of Labor Statistics data for September indicates that the hospital job growth forecast is improving despite frequent mass layoffs. In fact, healthcare was responsible for more than one-in-three new jobs in the entire economy during September.
