Imaging Self-Referrals Don't Reduce Sick Days, Costs
When a physician self-refers a patient for imaging tests, the cost per episode of care generally averages 4% to 10% higher than when imaging is not conducted on the doctor's own equipment, research published in Health Affairs finds.
