CPOEs Can Decrease Mortality Rates, Research Shows

For the first time, data has shown that a significant decrease in hospital-wide mortality rates can be associated with implementing computerized physician order entry systems. Using such systems to reduce time to execute orders was the biggest catalyst to lowering mortality rates, researchers say.
