Dartmouth Links Primary Care Quality to Actions, Not Numbers of Doctors

Compared to areas with high per capita numbers of primary care physicians, mortality and hospitalizations are significantly lower in areas where though there are fewer primary care doctors, they work full time taking care of patients in ambulatory care office or clinic settings, a Dartmouth study says.
