An EMR for Every Patient

The Hawaii Island Beacon Community intends to build an interconnected system of care based on collaboration, technology, and engagement designed to improve health and healthcare delivery. Through the development of medical homes that utilize EMRs linked through health information exchange, the consortium is aiming for more comprehensive, coordinated healthcare, particularly for the chronically ill, resulting in shorter waits for appointments and greater access to medical specialists.
