What Perry's Stance on Medicaid Expansion Means to Texas Hospitals



Expanding Medicaid in the Lone Star State threatens it with "financial ruin," says Governor Rick Perry in a letter to Kathleen Sebelius. But hospital leaders, footing large bills for uncompensated care, see the move as a double whammy. They've already agreed to cuts in disproportionate share hospital payments in exchange for an expanded Medicaid program.
