Healthcare Cost Growth Slows but Easily Outpaces Inflation

The average growth in per capita cost of healthcare services slowed over the past year, but the overall pace of that growth continues to outstrip inflation in the larger economy, according to Standard & Poor's Healthcare Economic Indices. Given the peculiarities of healthcare, it is unlikely that the sector's cost growth will be brought in line with the Consumer Price Index anytime soon.
