Lawsuit pits East Jefferson hospital against medical group

Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich has found himself in a legal dust-up with his old employer, East Jefferson General Hospital. The hospital filed a lawsuit this week in 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna against an urgent care company called After Hours Medical Group, which Cvitanovich started more than a decade ago and still partially owns.
