Lifespan, Dana-Farber sign pact to expand cancer treatments

Leaders at Lifespan, Rhode Island's largest hospital network, on Tuesday signed a partnership agreement with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston that officials said will expand Rhode Island cancer patients' access to clinical trials and expertise for complex cases. The partnership also will create a program to coordinate treatment for Rhode Island patients undergoing bone marrow transplants at Dana-Farber in Boston so they can have their pre- and post-operative treatment at Rhode Island Hospital.
