This month, Nashville-based Saint Thomas Hospital turns 112. More than a century ago, about a dozen women from a Catholic religious community converted a mansion in downtown Nashville into a hospital. The hospital now has 541 beds and more than 700 physicians on staff, and frequently unveils new technology to treat patients in various areas, including cardiology, oncology, and neurology, The Tennessean reports.
