The acquisition of Saint Clare's Health System by California-based Prime Healthcare Services has cleared a major hurdle with the unanimous approval Thursday of the New Jersey State Health Planning Board, NJBIZ reported. State Health Commissioner Mary O'Dowd now has 120 days to make a final decision, department spokeswoman Donna Leusner told the newspaper. As reported by NJ.com, Prime Healthcare's acquisition of Saint Clare's Health System was delayed this past November after reaching an agreement to purchase all of Saint Clare's assets including the Dover, Denville and Boonton hospitals — with the exception of the Saint Clare's Foundation.
