Ohio not part of federal database on EMS runs

Considered a leader in emergency medical services, Ohio is one of the few states that don't send run reports to a national database. A 1992 law that created the Ohio trauma registry prohibits state officials from sending reports to the National EMS Information System. This prevents Ohio's EMS agencies from comparing themselves nationally to improve patient care and emergency worker training.
