Dignity Health (formerly known as Catholic Healthcare West) has retained Tyler & Company for an exciting search for a President, California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), a member of Dignity Health Network (formerly Catholic Healthcare West), is a busy, complex 318-bed, teaching hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. With $320 million in net revenue, CHMC provides services for the dynamic downtown Los Angeles community and its surrounding neighborhoods. Building on the hospital's 120-year history of healing, CHMC's vision is to be a growing and diversified health care ministry, distinguished by excellent quality and a commitment to expanding access to those in need. The President of CHMC will lead the hospital operations and an assigned portfolio of healthcare assets that may include acute care, ambulatory outpatient services, philanthropy, physician alignment, employment business models, and other alternative healthcare delivery systems. The President will report to and work closely with Dignity's Regional Senior Vice President of Operations on all key operational components of the business. The President will have an understanding of the culture and history of the community that CHMC serves, as well as be inclusive of community boards, elected officials, physician partners and other entities as cultivation and maintenance of positive relationships are critical to the success of the hospital. This is an ideal opportunity for the new President to:
• Expand the hospital into a new demographic area.
• Build new strategic alliances with other health systems in the area.
• Build upon the excellent work and foundation put in place by the existing leadership.
• Expand the involvement of the hospital via community outreach and local population health initiatives.
The selected candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of executive healthcare experience within a complex health organization. The ideal candidate will have had experience as a hospital CEO in a highly competitive market or as the COO of a large hospital or multi-hospital system. The chosen candidate must be knowledgeable in acute-care hospital operations, physician engagement and effective physician relations, ambulatory and outpatient service delivery systems, and healthcare philanthropy. A Master's degree in hospital/health services administration, healthcare management or other related area from an accredited institution is required.
