Sebelius lauds women's care in OH

With new and pregnant mothers at her side, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius visited a Downtown hospital yesterday to highlight preventive services that Ohioans now can access at no cost to them. Sebelius' visit to Grant Medical Center came less than a week after the new provisions of the federal healthcare overhaul took effect. An HHS official estimated the largest savings would come to adults who need more-expensive preventive services, such as colonoscopies for people older than 50. The federal government estimates that 1.85 million insured Ohio women will benefit, in part through guaranteed coverage of breast-feeding supplies, screening for gestational diabetes and annual well visits.
