Patients have increasing access to their healthcare records

Penn Live / The Patriot News, November 19, 2012
Midstate health care systems are giving patients access to increasing amounts of their own health care data based on patient interest and government incentives and requirements for electronic medical records. Major area health systems such as WellSpan Health, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and PinnacleHealth System are integrating their facilities' information into one platform and are in various stages of granting patients access to everything from lab results and medical instructions to email capabilities with providers. A patient-centered medical home is a health care delivery model focused on prevention and coordination of care by a physician-led team.
