Jackson Health System executives report on savings plans

Miami Herald, April 1, 2010

Executives at Miami-based Jackson Health System talked Wednesday about ways to improve its billing and collection systems. Doing a better job of collecting what's owed is seen by Jackson's managers, its board, and outside consultants as being crucial in reducing the deficit that's expected to reach $229.4 million this year unless major changes are made. Carmen Pla, Jackson's director of revenue cycle, said she was working with new consultants, PricewaterhouseCoopers, to come up with ways to make sure that billing and collection get improved, the Miami Herald reports.
