Jackson Health System consultant fees subject of fierce debate

Miami Herald, May 20, 2010

For more than a month, Miami-Dade County and Jackson Health System officials have been wrestling with whether the cash-poor public hospital system should be hiring consultants at an average of $260 an hour to help turn around its dismal finances. For that money, the consultants say they can deliver $388 million in cost savings and extra revenue over 30 months.
