Jackson Health System gets new chief medical officer

Miami Herald, June 4, 2010

Miami-based Jackson Health System has named Michael K. Butler as its chief medical officer, replacing Gerard Kaiser, 77, who has retired after being leader of the system's doctors for more than 20 years. Butler, who will also be an executive vice president, comes from Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division, where he was most recently executive director of the LSU Center of Effectiveness and Quality. For months, Jackson has been searching for a permanent chief financial officer, the Miami Herald reports.
