One in five medical claims processed inaccurately, AMA says

Chicago Tribune, June 15, 2010

One in 5 medical claims is processed inaccurately by the nation's largest health insurers, slowing payments to doctors and causing confusion for consumers, the American Medical Association said. In a report released at the AMA's annual meeting in Chicago, the national doctors group said making claims processing 100% accurate would save the healthcare system $15 billion, largely by making healthcare more efficient and reducing administrative costs.
