The Med gets $40 million in state and federal funding, more than expected
Memphis Commercial Appeal, July 8, 2010
A $40 million payday has arrived for the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and should similar checks continue each year, the beleaguered hospital’s major money woes could be over for the foreseeable future. The funds come from a state and federal, three-to-one match on $10 million given to The Med by the Shelby County Commission earlier this year. That match was only expected to be a two-to-one match and yield $30 million.
