Hartford Courant, March 9, 2010

Connecticut's attorney general notified President Barack Obama's top health official that the state's largest insurer has an anti-competitive clause in its contracts with hospitals and doctors, the Hartford Courant reports. Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Connecticut has a "most favored nation" clause requiring hospitals and other medical providers to offer Anthem discounts at least as favorable as any provided to a competitor, the attorney general's office has said.
