Millions of Americans who qualify must wait two years for Medicare

Nearly 2 million disabled Americans fall into a twilight between the first monthly Social Security disability payment and a two-year wait to become eligible for Medicare. Many of them have spent their savings on the care necessary to reach a diagnosis and now cannot get private insurance.
