WI hospital rates rose more slowly than national average

The Journal-Sentinel, December 15, 2011

Hospitals in southeastern Wisconsin, which once ranked among the most costly in the country, raised rates for commercial health plans at a much slower rate than the national average from 2003 through 2010, according to a study released Wednesday by the Greater Milwaukee Business Foundation on Health. The study also showed that hospital operating costs—their day-to-day expenses—increased less on average than national benchmarks over the same period.
