NC hospital's CMS funding in jeopardy

Statesville Record & Landmark, March 7, 2012

Health and safety concerns at Iredell Memorial Hospital prompted Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services surveyors to issue a warning to the hospital this month, putting the agency's funding to the hospital in jeopardy. CMS has given the hospital until March 17 to address its noncompliance of participation requirements. According to a March 2 legal notice that was printed in the R&L, surveyors cited problems with the hospital's governing body, patient rights, quality assessment and performance improvement and nursing services, and the hospital was given "Immediate Jeopardy" status.
