A new reform fret: The income tax issue
Previously, dental payers were vigorously lobbying to get a provision into the final healthcare expansion bill that would allow users of a public health plan to buy dental coverage (see the June MDC).
Now, dental payers and providers are lobbying, perhaps even more vigorously, to kill an idea that would allow the federal government to tax healthcare-related benefits as income or to exempt dental benefits from taxation.
