Men line up to go under knife

Boston Herald, March 24, 2011
Blue-collar Bay State guys are on the cutting edge of a plastic surgery boom, according to docs who say lower costs and baby-boomer anxiety are fueling the male nip-and-tuck uptick. "It's not just very wealthy people," said Cambridge-based plastic surgeon Joel Feldman, MD, whose practice is almost 50% men. "It's people from all walks of life ? construction workers to CEOs." Facelifts for men spiked 14% in 2010, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, which released statistics this week also showing liposuction up by 7%, Botox up by 9% and the Northeast leading the nation in male breast reduction surgeries.
