Capella to shutter AL hospital

Nashville Business Journal, January 10, 2012
Capella Healthcare announced Monday it will be closing Hartselle Medical Center in Alabama at the end of this month. Company officials cited low inpatient figures, a difficult reimbursement environment and the presence of other hospitals in the Hartselle, AL, area as reasons for the decision. Hartselle Medical Center is licensed for 150 beds, but averages less than eight medical-surgical patients and 13 to 15 psychiatric patients per day.
