Sebelius stands by decision not to delay launch of marketplace website

The Columbus Dispatch, October 18, 2013
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius acknowledged yesterday that the federal government's Oct. 1 rollout of online health-insurance marketplaces did not go smoothly, but she stood by the government's decision not to delay the nationwide launch. "There is no question that the website had a rocky start," Sebelius said during a visit to the Main Library Downtown. "I am first to say we wish it could have been a lot smoother from Day One." But she said the healthcare.gov website is functioning better than it was two weeks ago. The federal government's online system cost more than $400 million to create, The New York Times reported this week.
