To mediate or not to mediate?
Many contracts between providers and health insurance companies allow or require the parties to try mediation or arbitration before moving a dispute to litigation. In the past, providers and health plans have successfully used mediation as a faster, less expensive way to resolve their disputes, whether they were about payment or quality of care.
