Warn plan members about their financial responsibilities for treatment
Give plan members early warning about the financial responsibilities they may face for treatment. By talking to them as soon as possible about how much they may have to pay you, you'll make it hard for them to later claim that they had no idea they would owe that much. They'll also be more likely to pay your bill, says Tennessee consultant David D. Marcus. As a result, you can collect more revenue and write off less bad debt.
