Colorado legislature passes landmark managed care bill
Colorado has enacted sweeping legislation addressing contractual arrangements between healthcare providers and health plans. Senate Bill (SB) 79, passed in March by the state's General Assembly and signed on March 30 by Governor Bill Ritter (D), is being touted as the nation's first legislation to provide a more equitable playing field for healthcare providers during the managed care contracting process.
