Hospital outsourcing now part of managed care contracting
Move over, food and linen services. Outsourcing of diagnostic and clinical services also is widespread in the hospital industry, and it's here to stay, according to a study commissioned by Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP, a Nashville law firm. The 2006 Hospital Outsourcing Trends in Clinical Services Survey, based on responses from 266 hospital CEOs and chief operating officers, reveals that 78% of hospitals already outsource some patient care services, and 83% expect outsourcing to remain steady or grow at their facilities over the next two to three years.
