Simple audits help to manage payer contracts
Here's a remarkably simple contract auditing process you can use to ensure that your organization collects the amounts due from payer contracts, confirms that new contract terms are implemented correctly, and even avoids overpayments that will result in future take-backs. Jeffrey B. Milburn, vice president of managed care at Colorado Springs (CO) Health Partners, PC, developed these strategies and uses them regularly in his practice of more than 80 physicians at 12 sites. Milburn, who addressed this topic during the Medical Group Management Association's 2006 annual conference, also shared some of his insights with Managed Care Contracting & Reimbursement Advisor.
