Lower-earning females keep primary care afloat

Given the often dramatically higher compensation levels for surgeons and medical specialists, it is no surprise that today's medical students are shying away from primary care when making career choices. But a recent study by the Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) suggests that the exodus from primary care isn't spread evenly across the physician population.
