Medicare to ease cuts to hospitals

The federal Medicare program is expected to announce that it will reduce by nearly half the $20 billion in cuts intended for inpatient care at hospitals. Hospital groups had flooded Washington, DC, legislators with calls and e-mails about the pending payment reductions.
