BIRMINGHAM, AL: BCBSA elects new president/COO

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama's Board of Directors has elected Terry Kellogg to serve as president/COO. Simultaneously, Phillip Pope, president/CEO, has announced his retirement effective June 30. Kellogg, currently the company's executive vice president and COO, came to BCBSA 28 years ago as vice president and chief actuary. He has served as a senior officer for the last 12 years and was named executive vice president in 2002. As part of this transition, Blue Cross also announced that its board elected Tim Kirkpatrick as the company's new executive vice President. Kirkpatrick, currently senior vice president, has been with the company for 33 years, including the past 10 years as a senior officer.
