Jackson Health System eyes possible concessions from nurses union

Miami Herald, March 17, 2010

Representatives from the nurses' union and Miami-based Jackson Health System have entered discussions about union workers making some kind of concession to help the beleaguered system save $30 million in labor costs. "We're working on a plan," Martha Baker, president of Local 1991 of the Service Employees International Union, told the Miami Herald. She wasn't sure what kind of reductions the union might accept, but "we're all in this to save Jackson," she said.
