CHICAGO: Cook County hospitals appoint CEO

The Chicago Tribune, August 1, 2011
Cook County's health and hospital board has hired an executive from New York's public health system as its CEO. Officials are expected Friday to announce the hiring of Ramanathan Raju, MD, an executive vice president at the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. Raju is scheduled to start this fall and will make $500,000 a year plus bonuses, sources said. Raju will replace former CEO William Foley, who left for a job in March with Vanguard Health Systems running hospitals in the Chicago area. Raju beat out interim CEO Terry Mason for the job.
