TACOMA, WA: Adams succeeds Semerdjian as Franciscan CMO

Tacoma's Franciscan Health System has appointed a veteran physician executive as the chief medical officer of its five-hospital system. Mark Adams, MD, succeeds Gregory Semerdjian, MD, who retired. Adams is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon who previously held the position of vice president for medical affairs and associate chief medical officer. Before joining Franciscan, he served in medical staff leadership positions at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. Dr. Adams is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington Department of Surgery. He is a past president of the Washington State Medical Association and recently served a term on the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
