KY hospital merger agreement gives CHI broad control

The Courier-Journal, December 16, 2011
Catholic Health Initiatives would have final approval over the budgets of the new company that would be created by the merger of University Hospital and the Jewish Hospital organization, as well as the exclusive right to approve a chief executive officer for the new organization. And Denver-based CHI could transfer money from the new company if it's needed to meet CHI's long-term debt obligations. Those are among the details revealed in an agreement between CHI, the University of Louisville and Jewish Hospital's parent organization that was among the documents turned over to County Attorney Mike O'Connell Thursday.
